Quality Assurance Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Nurse to join our team at Northern Light Home Care and Hospice. As a Quality Assurance Nurse, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of clinical documentation, while also collaborating with staff and leadership to identify areas for improvement and implement quality initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze clinical documentation, including OASIS documentation, to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Utilize critical thinking and organizational skills to ensure timely processing of all SOC/ROC, re-certification, and resumption of care and discharge assessments
- Review OASIS for completeness and accuracy on admissions, re-certifications, resumptions of care, and discharges, and communicate needed changes to appropriate staff
- Collaborate with others to review CMS additional documentation requests, monitor for trends, and report to clinical leaders
- Review documentation and accurately apply diagnoses codes
- Problem solve and troubleshoot documentation for coding discrepancies, logical inconsistencies, errors, and completeness
- Collaborate with billing staff to resolve diagnoses coding issues
- Maintain productivity at or above national benchmarks
- 2+ years of relative work experience required
- 2 years of clinical experience, one of which is in home health or hospice care
- Certification as an OASIS Specialist-Clinical by the OASIS Certificate and Competency Board
- Certification as a Home Care Coding Specialist-Diagnosis
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
- Potential exposure to abusive and/or aggressive people
- Potential exposure to diseases or infections
- Need to drive to perform responsible duties
- Potential exposure to noxious odors
- Potential exposure to very hot or cold temperatures
- Work with computers, typing, reading, or writing
- Lifting, moving, and loading 20 to 30 pounds
- Prolonged periods of sitting
- Work beyond the regularly scheduled hours
