Job Description and Duties

The Program Technician II in the Pre-Scan Unit plays a critical role in reviewing and analyzing complex document submissions, performing technical functions, and processing applicant fingerprint fees. This position requires extensive knowledge of state statutes and Departmental programs, as well as the ability to access and validate authorization agency lists and applicant processor databases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze complex document submissions for accuracy and completeness
  • Perform technical functions involving the receipt, distribution, and electronic scanning of criminal and applicant documents
  • Process applicant fingerprint fees and verify that appropriate fees are included
  • Access and validate authorization agency lists and applicant processor databases
  • Prepare and reconcile fees collected for processing applicant fingerprint cards
  • Process daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports and forward them to the appropriate Bureau sections
  • Provide training to section staff on various processes
Working Conditions:

This position is eligible for telework up to 1 day a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment. A fingerprint check is required.
