About the Thriving Communities Grantmaker Project

The Green & Healthy Homes Initiative is one of 11 organizations selected by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to serve as an Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Grantmaker. We received $50 million to provide subgrants to community-based nonprofits and other eligible subrecipients in EPA Region 3 for assessment, planning, and project development activities.

Position Overview

The Program Officer Thriving Communities Grantmaker Program will support the EPA Region 3 Thriving Communities Grantmaker (TCGM) project. The TCGM Project, in collaboration with the EPA, will award $40 million in EPA funding to fund eligible projects in historically disinvested communities throughout EPA's Region 3.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and score applications to ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Manage grant support teams for subrecipients, providing tailored technical assistance and capacity building
  • Monitor grant activities and compliance, ensuring consistent use of project management software
  • Contribute to a knowledge library to support the diverse set of subrecipients

Qualifications

  • Experience in grantmaking, project management, implementation, and evaluation
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • Demonstrated evidence of success working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in using Project Management Software like Monday.com or similar
