We are a leading provider of veterinary cardiac care across the nation, and we are growing. Our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service to pet families, and we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our team.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Veterinary Assistant to provide medical support and help our cardiologists achieve greater efficiency. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate care to our clients and patients
  • Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Anticipate the needs of the doctor and ensure the efficiency of appointment flow, care of emergency patients, and complete medical record keeping
  • Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas
  • Administer oral medications and perform venipuncture
  • Effectively position for and take radiographs and perform electrocardiograms
  • Handle Holter placement and removal and related tasks
  • Prepare medications and prescriptions for dispensing as directed by the doctor
  • Discharge all patients in-house and outpatient
  • Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with clients
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 18 years old
  • Minimum two years of experience as a veterinary assistant (desirable but not required)
  • Computer knowledge required, including proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, Paint, photos, Google Drive/Sheets/Docs, PDF/CutePDF, keyboarding, instant messaging, and email
