Lexington, Kentucky, United States MRG Exams Full time

MRG Exams, a leader and premier service provider of independent medical examinations, is seeking a part-time Optometrist to perform comprehensive eye exams on United States Veterans as part of the VA's SHA process.

The Eye Examination Specialist will be responsible for reviewing medical health records through a secure Web Portal and performing a comprehensive eye exam on each veteran, completing forms through the Web Portal. This position does not involve making determinations; the VA makes all determinations.

This is a non-treating role that only provides assessments.

As an independent contractor, this position offers flexibility and autonomy in serving veterans in their community.

The schedule for this position will be Monday and Wednesday, 8am-4pm.

To be successful in this role, you should have experience with comprehensive eye exam assessments, rather than traditional patient care and treatment.

You must be able to analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete forms and provide medical opinions.

Completed forms must be submitted within 24 hours after an exam.

You will also need excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate with veterans and other stakeholders.

Required qualifications include:

  • A current license as an Optometrist in the state where exams are performed
  • The ability to perform Visual Field Testing (VFT)

The estimated salary for this position is around $80,000-$100,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.

MRG Exams offers a unique opportunity to serve veterans in their community while working independently as an Optometrist. If you are passionate about providing high-quality eye care services and have the necessary skills and qualifications, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
