Key Responsibilities:

Role Summary:


This senior engineering position is primarily accountable for leading industrial and plant design initiatives, mentoring team members, and executing complex engineering tasks specific to mechanical and plumbing disciplines.


Core Functions:
Interprets, defines, organizes, executes, and coordinates engineering assignments. Oversees a specific technical program and provides guidance for multiple projects of significant scope and complexity. Responsible for coordinating the technical execution of extensive segments of an engineering program with diverse engineering requirements. Applies or develops advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes to ensure quality deliverables that meet project specifications. Offers technical expertise and leadership during project definition and planning phases. Communicates new scientific methods, developments, and practices through appropriate channels. Develops and documents standard practices while mentoring team members in skill enhancement.

Business Development Contributions:
Provides technical expertise in the creation of proposals, presentations, and technical narratives. Represents the firm at various functions as needed. Delivers presentations at conferences to showcase the innovative and unique services offered by Woolpert. Conducts training sessions for internal staff as required. Participates in firm-wide quality initiatives. May assume a phase manager role in complex projects as necessary. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Must possess experience in fuel piping, plant design, steam, and other industrial practice areas within mechanical engineering.

Experience with building system design, HVAC, plumbing systems, commercial, hospitality, and/or high-rise projects is preferred.

Proficiency in designing directly in Revit or overseeing Revit designers for the preparation of construction documents is essential.

Experience in coordinating design documents across disciplines is required.

Candidates must be mentally and physically capable of fulfilling all essential duties of the position.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, including scientific and technical journals, is necessary.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external interactions are a must.

Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, and/or members of the business community is essential.

Must possess the capability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or styles.

Above-average presentation skills are required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams is necessary.

Familiarity with discipline-related software applications is expected.

Must be recognized as a subject matter expert within their respective engineering field.

A BA/BS or MA/MS degree and 15 years of relevant experience are required.

Must hold a valid Professional Engineer license.


Willingness to travel to project sites or offices as needed based on assigned projects or for team collaboration is essential.


Physical Qualifications:

Must be able to sit for extended periods.

Must be able to operate and manipulate standard office equipment.

Must be able to occasionally reach and bend.

Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
