About the Role:

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a highly experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing nuclear power plant systems, including preparation and review of modification packages, functional mechanical drawings, and engineering analyses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop nuclear power plant systems, including modification packages, functional mechanical drawings, and engineering analyses.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
  • Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment and conduct studies and options evaluations for modifications to operating nuclear power plants.
  • Develop engineering cost estimates for client-requested work scopes and lead engineering project teams.
  • Visit client office and/or plant site locations to interface with clients and make presentations related to engineering tasks and status.

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in the power industry.
  • Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants.
  • PE license is beneficial, but not required.
