The
Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for conducting in-process evaluations throughout the manufacturing cycle to ensure that components, assemblies, and sub-assemblies adhere to established specifications.

Document any discrepancies as they arise within production workflows and assess incoming materials, parts, and components for compliance. Implement the calibration program and uphold regulatory standards.

  • Familiarize oneself with relevant Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Department protocols, interpreting technical drawings, manuals, or other necessary documentation to ascertain specifications, inspection methods, adjustments, and certification processes.
  • Conduct inspections, tests (including chemical analyses), or measurements of materials and products to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Manage documented information generated by the quality department (e.g., Non-Conformance Reports, Inspection/Test reports, etc.).
  • Alert production supervisors and relevant personnel about production issues and assist in troubleshooting and resolving these issues. Support production staff in addressing minor challenges and interpreting drawings as necessary.
  • Utilize tools, equipment, and instruments for inspections, comparing findings against specifications and completing requisite documentation.
  • Monitor production activities and machinery to ensure adherence to specifications, making or directing necessary adjustments.
  • Adhere to 6S practices and comply with all safety regulations, guidelines, and safe working procedures.
  • Operate material handling and lifting equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, and motorized lifts as required.
  • Prepare components or transformers for inspection and establish a secure environment for evaluations.
  • Employ available inspection/test protocols and data to set up inspections/tests and assist in assessing the electrical and mechanical performance of each transformer unit.
  • Conduct calibration and repairs of equipment as necessary. Fabricate, install, and test equipment related to inspection/testing operations, maintaining cleanliness and order in inspection/test areas.
  • Mentor and assist in training other personnel as required and applicable.
  • Provide support and recommendations to enhance Hyosung HICO's policies and procedures.
  • Promote the objectives and positive professional image of the Quality Department.
  • Understand Hyosung HICO's Quality and Environmental Policies, being able to articulate their significance and impact on work processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

High school diploma or GED; vocational or trade school certification preferred. A minimum of three years of relevant experience in the Quality Assurance sector or equivalent education and experience. Basic understanding of ISO 9001 standards and quality requirements. Ability to read and interpret mechanical and technical drawings. Proficient computer skills for data entry and retrieval. Developed mathematical and trigonometric skills. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Familiarity with basic industrial measuring tools is essential. Experience with inspection tools, instruments, and equipment is required.

Capability to read, write, and follow instructions. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues. Capacity to exercise independent judgment in assessing quality issues. Proficiency in using basic hand and power tools. Ability to work in confined spaces. Ability to work from heights, ladders, scaffolds, and elevated platforms. Ability to stand and walk for 6-8 hours daily. Ability to climb ladders and/or stairs multiple times throughout the day. Ability to squat, crawl, bend, stretch, and kneel. Ability to lift and carry weights up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to perform repetitive movements.
