The
Quality Inspector is responsible for conducting in-process evaluations throughout the manufacturing cycle to ensure that components, assemblies, and sub-assemblies adhere to established standards.

This role involves meticulously documenting any discrepancies identified during the manufacturing stages and inspecting incoming materials for compliance. The Quality Inspector will also oversee the calibration program to ensure ongoing adherence to quality standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE,

BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:


  • Familiarity with relevant Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Department protocols, as well as the ability to analyze and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and other documentation to ascertain specifications, inspection methods, and certification processes.
  • Conduct inspections, tests (including chemical analyses), and measurements of materials and products to verify conformity to specifications.
  • Manage documented information produced by the quality department (e.g., Non-Conformance Reports, Inspection/Test reports, etc.).
  • Alert production supervisors and relevant personnel to any production issues and assist in troubleshooting and resolving these issues. Provide support to production staff in interpreting drawings and solving minor challenges as necessary.
  • Utilize various tools, equipment, and instruments for inspections, comparing results against specifications and completing required documentation.
  • Monitor production operations and equipment to ensure compliance with specifications, making or directing necessary adjustments as needed.
  • Adhere to 6S practices and comply with all safety regulations, guidelines, and best practices for safe working conditions.
  • Operate material handling and lifting equipment, such as overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, and motorized lifts, as required.
  • Prepare components or transformers for inspection, ensuring a safe environment for evaluation.
  • Utilize available inspection/test procedures and data to set up, conduct inspections/tests, and assist in evaluating the electrical and mechanical performance of each transformer unit.
  • Perform calibration and repairs on equipment as necessary. Fabricate, install, and test equipment related to inspection/testing operations, maintaining cleanliness and order in inspection/test areas.
  • Provide guidance and support in training other personnel as needed.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of Hyosung HICO's policies and procedures.
  • Promote the objectives and professional image of the Quality Department.
  • Understand and be able to discuss Hyosung HICO's Quality and Environmental Policies, recognizing their significance and impact on work processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

  • High school diploma or GED; a degree from a trade or vocational school is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in the Quality Assurance field or equivalent education and experience.
  • Basic understanding of ISO 9001 standards and quality requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and technical drawings.
  • Proficient computer skills for data entry and retrieval.
  • Developed mathematical and trigonometric skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with basic industrial measuring tools.
  • Experience with inspection tools, instruments, and equipment is required.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements.
