Job Description and Duties

This position is located in a work environment that requires the incumbent to wear respiratory protection equipment, including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). The use of such equipment may place a physiological burden on the incumbent that varies with the type of equipment used, the job and workplace conditions in which the equipment is used, and the medical status of the incumbent.

The incumbent is required to be annually medically cleared to be fit-tested for respiratory protection equipment. This clearance process consists of a comprehensive medical evaluation including a review of the incumbent's medical history, a complete physical examination, and vision, hearing, spirometry, and exercise treadmill tests.

The position requires the ability to obtain and maintain certified purchaser status. The incumbent must also be able to work nights, weekends, or extended hours, and may be required to travel overnight.

Working Conditions

The work environment may require the incumbent to work in a physically demanding position that involves heavy lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time.

Special Requirements

  • The position requires Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
