About the Role

The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition is seeking a seasoned professional to fill the position of Deputy Director of Development. This role will be responsible for driving the fundraising efforts of the organization's educational and advocacy agenda.

Key Responsibilities
  • Membership Fundraising
    • Develop and implement strategies to generate membership revenue for the organization's advocacy arm.
    • Manage the membership pipeline, cultivate relationships, and recruit new members to strengthen the coalition.
    • Ensure timely communication of annual membership renewals and lapsed member recruitment.
    • Follow up on pledges and cash collections to optimize cash flow and member services.
  • Strategic Partnerships
    • Enhance the member partnership pipeline to cross-cultivate broader financial support for the organization's educational initiatives.
    • Collaborate on developing multiyear fundraising goals to meet the organization's growth trajectory.
    • Pursue opportunities to maximize revenue for the organization's annual Global Impact Forum through sponsorships and other partnership opportunities.
  • Leadership and Operations
    • Manage day-to-day operations of the department and staff, including providing support to the Director of Development and oversight, coaching, and mentoring to a high-performing development team.
    • Develop periodic management reports to include key revenue benchmarks and other indicators.
    • Collaborate and serve as a thought partner with cross-functional teams to harness new member benefits.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of non-profit experience in managing a comprehensive development program for advocacy and education organizations.
  • Demonstrated success in leading a team and managing a seven to eight-figure portfolio of corporate, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Proven track record of managing relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills to communicate to a wide range of audiences.
  • Passion for U.S. international development and diplomacy programs.
  • Ability to travel out of the DMV area to meet partners and attend events up to 15% of the time.
