Long Beach, California, United States Relativity Space Full time

Company Overview:

At Relativity Space, we aspire to achieve two ambitious objectives: to establish a premier commercial launch enterprise with Terran R and to become a frontrunner in additive manufacturing innovation in the United States.

Both initiatives contribute to our overarching vision of developing humanity's industrial foundation on Mars, facilitating the expansion of interplanetary life and broadening the horizons of human experience.

This journey commences right here on Earth – where we conceptualize, construct, and launch rockets to transport customer payloads into orbit.

Terran R, our medium-to-heavy lift reusable rocket, addresses the increasing demand for launch capabilities, thanks to our iterative approach that accelerates design, testing, and development while reducing costs.

Our pioneering research and development in 3D printing challenges the limits of large-scale additive manufacturing.

Your journey with us transcends a mere job – it's a chance to influence the future of aerospace technology, additive manufacturing, and the human experience alongside a community of dedicated, innovative individuals.

Join us on this remarkable journey as we collaborate to turn our vision into reality.

About the Team:

The engine manufacturing division's mission is to produce high-performance products and manufacturing systems by continuously innovating in cost, quality, and lead time.

Through cross-functional collaboration, high accountability, and a commitment to safety, we support the Terran R program.

We are tasked with providing design feedback on new hardware iterations, developing novel manufacturing methods and systems, and ultimately constructing engine and vehicle hardware for testing prior to our inaugural launch.

Our team's achievements over the past six months include the MDC of the first Aeon-R engine, completing thousands of hours of PBF printing, constructing and testing over 50 valves across 26 different iterations, and implementing significant process enhancements along the way.

About the Role:

The Machine Shop team is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead machining development through innovative methodologies and effective communication with our vehicle and propulsion design and manufacturing teams.

You will collaborate to implement process definitions and enhancements with a focus on safety, quality, and scalability to meet the future demands of the business.
