Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious student to join our R&D team as a Research Intern - Global Applications, Snacks, Bakery & Confectionary. As a key member of our team, you will support the progression of a well-defined research project connecting consumer insights and/or un-met customer needs to developing ingredient technology for snacks and bakery products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate laboratory equipment safely and with minimal supervision to support project needs
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to guidelines for good housekeeping and safety
  • Conduct searches on prior art, literature, and patents, and summarize outcomes in a comprehensive report
  • Present project status, updates, and outcomes to the team and key partners, effectively communicating with colleagues and cross-functional team members
  • Perform laboratory experiments, analyze data, and interpret results to make recommendations to the project team
  • Coordinate, summarize, and report data generated from experiments, recording results in the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and other archiving databases
  • Present research findings to management with recommendations for future New Product Development or Applied Research projects
Requirements
  • Progress towards a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biochemistry, or a related field with laboratory research experience
  • Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written technical communication skills
  • Working knowledge of basic computer software applications, such as MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Reliable transportation to and from the facility each work day
