Job Summary

The Disbursement Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities in the Disbursements Office at California State University, Northridge. This role entails ensuring the timely, efficient, and accurate disbursement of funds, including financial aid, tuition/fee refunds, scholarships, and loan checks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Disbursement Operations: Oversee disbursement operations, including reviewing procedures, updating training materials, and providing input for staff evaluations.
  • Staff Supervision: Assist with hiring, provide input for staff evaluations, and oversee payroll sorting and physical distribution processes.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Work closely with Financial Aid, Student Accounting, Records/Registration, Payroll, and other departments to coordinate services and maintain regulations and practices.
  • Special Projects: Perform other duties as assigned, including reviewing and updating procedures, training staff, and developing training materials.
Qualifications
  • Education: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a job-related field.
  • Experience: Equivalent to three (3) years of full-time, progressively responsible technical, analytical, or administrative experience.
  • Credit for Experience: Additional experience in a job-related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required education, on a year-for-year basis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Administrative Knowledge: Working knowledge of general practices, programs, and/or administrative specialties, including operational analysis and techniques.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to expertly investigate and analyze problems with a broad administrative impact and implications.
  • Communication: Ability to oversee and/or train others, provide lead work direction, interpret and apply policies and procedures, and communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
Benefits and Work Schedule

  • Classification: Admin Analyst/Spclst / 1038 / grade 2.
  • Salary Range: $4379 - $7922 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
  • Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with the possibility of evenings and weekends.
