About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineering Manager to join our team at Atlassian. As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for guiding the team to technical decisions for production services, helping prioritize and organize the team's work, and providing career growth and mentorship opportunities to your team.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspire innovation and operational excellence in our engineering organization.
- Own the delivery of critical projects in a microservices environment, ensuring timely and high-quality results.
- Be the engineering voice in our quarterly planning process, providing technical guidance and direction.
- Build an open, trusting, and operationally mature culture within the team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Participate in hiring planning and other budgeting exercises, ensuring the team has the necessary resources to succeed.
- Collaborate in technical/architectural discussions, providing direction and driving decision-making to ensure the team's success.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing software engineers, with a proven track record of success.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with product managers and designers to create the course of a product, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Demonstrated experience implementing dev-ops best practices, ensuring the team's efficiency and effectiveness.
- Familiarity working with public-facing high-traffic e-commerce websites, with a focus on scalability and reliability.
- Excited to foster a culture of continuous improvement, with a focus on innovation and operational excellence.
Compensation and Benefits
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable and explainable compensation programs. The baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn, we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience.
In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
- Zone A: $205,800 - $274,400
- Zone B: $185,200 - $246,900
- Zone C: $170,800 - $227,700
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
