Structured Finance Manager

The Structured Finance division plays a crucial role in securing external project funding, with a primary focus on tax equity financing for large-scale renewable energy initiatives, contributing significantly to RWE's growth and financial targets. This team collaborates closely with investors, external consultants, and internal departments to effectively execute financing transactions that align with RWE's strategic goals. The Manager, Structured Finance is expected to have substantial experience in leading financing transactions within the renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee valuation modeling for tax equity transactions and other financial arrangements.
  • Coordinate essential workstreams required for the successful execution of financing transactions, including management of due diligence.
  • Support senior team members in structuring deals and negotiating documentation.
  • Manage various workstreams critical to executing financing transactions, including leading the structuring of transaction economics, negotiating documentation, and overseeing due diligence.
  • Provide mentorship and development opportunities for junior team members.
  • Assist other finance team segments as needed, including conducting quality control reviews and supporting the gate process.
  • Propose and lead initiatives for process improvements.
  • Contribute to various internal ad hoc projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, accounting, tax, or a related analytical field (mandatory).
  • An MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, particularly in maintaining financial models and investment presentations.
  • In-depth knowledge of renewable energy project economics, particularly in wind, solar, or storage, along with related incentive systems (mandatory).
  • Experience in modeling tax equity partnership flip structures or similar project finance models (mandatory).
  • Strong analytical capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to apply innovative thinking to complex challenges.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with advanced skills in Excel formulas and model creation (mandatory).
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Effective communicator with strong written and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables.
  • A motivated self-starter with a goal-oriented mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
