The Structured Finance division plays a pivotal role in securing external project funding, with a primary focus on tax equity financing for large-scale renewable energy initiatives, significantly contributing to RWE's growth and financial aspirations. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in marketing and origination with tax equity investors, as well as leading financing transactions in the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee marketing and origination efforts with tax equity investors and buyers of tax credits.
- Evaluate financing alternatives to optimize RWE's returns while fulfilling strategic and financial objectives.
- Lead the structuring, negotiation, and due diligence processes for tax equity transactions.
- Manage various workstreams essential for the successful execution of financing deals, including structuring transaction economics, negotiating deal terms, and overseeing due diligence.
- Provide mentorship and development opportunities for junior team members.
- Identify and implement process enhancement initiatives.
- Support various internal projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, accounting, tax, or a related analytical field is required.
- An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is advantageous.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in financing modeling and renewable energy project financing or similar infrastructure roles.
- At least 5 years of relevant finance experience within the US renewable energy sector, focusing on tax equity financing.
- In-depth knowledge of renewable energy project economics, particularly in wind, solar, or storage, along with related incentive systems.
- Expertise in tax equity partnership structures, funding models, and agreements, with a proven track record in negotiating such agreements.
- Experience in marketing and fostering relationships with tax equity investors and originating tax equity financings.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to employ creative solutions to complex challenges.
- A collaborative team player with a proactive approach to independent and cross-functional work.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with effective presentation abilities.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, capable of coordinating multiple tasks and deliverables.
- A motivated self-starter with a goal-oriented focus and strong problem-solving capabilities.
