About the Role

The SMA Sales Specialist will be a key member of Capital Group's Divisional Sales teams, working closely with SMA Product Management, Asset Class Services leads, and the Equity and Fixed Income Investment Groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Point of Sale Expertise: Represent Capital Group/American Funds' SMA strategies to financial advisors, providing in-depth knowledge and expertise.
  • Identify and Prioritize Opportunities: Analyze territory travel, identify high-priority zones, and develop a coverage plan to maximize sales potential.
  • Support Sales Force Members: Act as an SMA sales and investment resource, providing guidance and support to sales force members in their territories.
  • Coordinate Training and Events: Work with division and national sales management to establish a schedule and syllabus for site-based SMA training, and coordinate delivery of relevant information and data on the competitive landscape.
  • Business Intelligence and Analysis: Provide business intelligence and analysis to division sales management and the internal and external sales force, helping to inform business decisions and drive sales growth.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Work closely with the product team and sales force management to create and deploy the SMA Sales plan, and help build and deliver training to external sales force members in Wealth Management.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5-7 years of SMA experience, preferably in a selling role.
  • Credentials: CFA, CIMA, or CFP strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and presentation skills, strong analytical skills, and the ability to analyze opportunities and issues and recommend business solutions.
  • Leadership Style: Open, approachable, and informing, with a focus on achievement and a drive to take initiative.
