Job Overview

Position: Drug and Alcohol Testing Technician

Work Schedule: Part-Time (20-29 hours per week)

Compensation: $15 per hour

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED

Qualifications:

  • Trained in agency drug testing protocols and procedures.

  • Professional interaction with clients and the public is essential.
General Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Chief Operations Officer, the Drug and Alcohol Testing Technician will conduct screenings for clients involved in the treatment program. The technician will adhere to established protocols for testing as outlined in the agency's policy manual. Ensuring proper documentation and chain of custody for all samples is crucial.

Key Duties:
  • Develop and maintain a schedule for random testing.
  • Manage inventory and assist with supply procurement.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and logs related to client testing.
  • Welcome clients respectfully and escort them to the testing area.
  • Perform substance use testing according to established policies, including sample collection and result recording.
  • Monitor clients during testing to ensure sample integrity.
  • Report any significant observations to clinical or supervisory staff.
  • Foster positive relationships with team members and external partners.
  • Assist in maintaining testing equipment and ensuring cleanliness of the testing area.
  • Document test results in the appropriate software system.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer and data entry proficiency.
