POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the guidance of the Chief Operations Officer, the Substance Use Screening Technician is responsible for conducting drug tests for clients involved in the treatment program. The technician will strictly adhere to the protocols outlined in the agency's policy manual, ensuring that all documentation is completed according to established procedures, including maintaining the integrity of the chain of custody for all samples collected and processed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop and maintain a schedule for random drug testing.
  2. Manage inventory and assist with ordering supplies.
  3. Complete all necessary documentation related to client testing.
  4. Welcome clients with respect and guide them through the testing process.
  5. Administer drug tests following agency policies, including sample collection and result recording.
  6. Monitor clients during testing to ensure sample integrity.
  7. Communicate any significant observations to clinical staff, ensuring proper documentation of any incidents.
  8. Foster positive relationships with team members and external partners.
  9. Assist in maintaining testing equipment and ensuring cleanliness of the testing area.
  10. Record drug test results in the appropriate software system.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  1. Knowledge and skills acquired through a high school education.
  2. Ability to maintain accurate records.
  3. Strong organizational skills.
  4. Capacity to interact with a diverse population.
  5. Effective oral and written communication skills.
