Under the guidance of the Cage Operations Manager, the Cage Operations Team Leader is tasked with the comprehensive oversight of Senior Cashiers, Line Cashiers, and Cage Support Cashiers. This role involves executing supervisory duties in alignment with the organization's policies and all relevant regulations, while promoting the objectives and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that embodies and upholds the Tribal Community's vision, mission, and values.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensures the security and accountability of enterprise funds. Responsible for managing assets within designated cages during assigned shifts. Guarantees the accuracy of all documentation submitted by subordinate staff. Investigates any discrepancies and implements necessary corrections as needed. Prepares discrepancy reports for Cage Operations Management, summarizing investigation outcomes and actions taken.

2. Verifies various payout types. Oversees Cage Cashiers to ensure adherence to policies and procedures. Communicates updates regarding policy changes to Cashiers. Strictly complies with all Gaming regulations. Conducts daily uniform inspections and participates in bi-annual Title 31 training sessions. Maintains compliance with Title 31 regulations.

3. Delivers exceptional Customer Service and maintains a professional demeanor at all times, ensuring a high level of respect for customers, colleagues, management, and the San Manuel community. Fosters a positive and organized working environment, emphasizing open communication. Addresses initial customer concerns promptly.

4. Coordinates with external vendors for the maintenance of enterprise-owned machinery and equipment. Proficiently operates all computer-related systems as well as a ten-key adding machine.

5. Develops staffing schedules for Cashiers. Approves time off requests, vacations, and personal days. Follows up with management on necessary paperwork. Monitors overtime and addresses excessive tardiness or absenteeism among Cage Operations Cashiers. Justifies early departures for Cashiers to manage overtime effectively.

6. Organizes and leads team meetings. Schedules and conducts monthly one-on-one meetings with team members. Prepares bi-annual performance evaluations and reviews. Makes recommendations for subordinate evaluations.

7. Assumes all Cage Operations roles as required.

8. Performs additional duties as assigned to support the efficient functioning of the department and takes on responsibilities that contribute to addressing any public health emergencies.

Supervisory Duties

Executes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. This includes interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, reviewing, and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues. Makes hiring decisions and develops individual growth plans with succession planning in mind for all key positions.

Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • Associates degree is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) months of supervisory, management, and/or training experience is preferred.
  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
  • Demonstrated experience in credit operations is preferred.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
