Job Summary

The Touro College Graduate Program in Speech-Language Pathology is seeking a highly qualified Clinical Director to oversee the daily operations of the Speech and Hearing Center. This is a full-time position that requires strong leadership skills, administrative experience, and a passion for academic and clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Speech and Hearing Center, including scheduling, file maintenance, and quality control.
  • Manage the administrative functions of the center, including supplies, tests, and materials.
  • Provide therapy services to clients and oversee the intake process.
  • Manage the budget of the Speech and Hearing Center.
  • Maintain quality control of student services and ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
  • Oversee the Clinic Administrative Assistant and supervise staff as needed.
  • Address student complaints and concerns.
  • Interview and hire supervisory staff as needed.
  • Oversee the Associate Director of the Speech and Hearing Center.
  • Maintain ASHA CFCC compliance and CAA accreditation.
  • Monitor student clinical education program plans and progress.
  • Obtain and maintain contracts for clinical affiliations.
  • Oversee student placements and maintain contact with placement supervisors.
  • Maintain student files and update the Touro College Clinical Manual.
  • Teach Clinical Practicum courses and consult with other professors.
  • Oversee student requirements for teacher certification and sign off on student applications.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide committees.
  • Participate in departmental activities, including recruitment and interview processes.
  • Responsible for oversight of students' completion of all clinical requirements for graduation.
  • Responsible for submission of reports to NYS, Middle States, and ASHA.
  • Oversight of electronic tracking and simulation systems.
  • Respond to requests from the program director, chair, and administration.
  • Collaborate with faculty to maintain a strong connection between academics and clinic.
  • Participate in professional research.
Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology (Doctoral degree preferred).
  • ASHA certification with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
  • State licensure.
  • Skills appropriate for administrative and academic tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to take initiative.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to take direction.
  • Administrative experience.
  • Ability to prioritize workload.
