Job Title: Resident Instructor

Community Residences is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resident Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Job Summary

The Resident Instructor will be responsible for creating a nurturing and positive learning environment, developing strategies to help clients cope with daily living situations, and facilitating independent performance in various areas. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with individuals with varying abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement individualized plans of care to meet the unique needs of each client.
  2. Provide support and guidance to clients in daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
  3. Assist clients in developing life skills, such as communication, socialization, and independence.
  4. Monitor and report any changes in client behavior or medical conditions to the supervisor or RN Program Coordinator.
  5. Administer medication to clients as prescribed, following agency policy and regulatory standards.
  6. Participate in training opportunities to maintain required certifications and stay up-to-date on best practices in the field.
  7. Assist with household management, including meal preparation, cleaning, and maintenance.
  8. Provide transportation for clients to appointments and outings, following safety procedures and state laws.
  9. Familiarize yourself with CRI policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with same.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or GED and at least two years of experience in the field of Human Services.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • The ability to work effectively with individuals with varying abilities.
  • A valid CT driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to utilize personal vehicle to transport clients.
