Resident Instructor

Community Residences is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resident Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals with developmental disabilities.
Job SummaryThe Resident Instructor will be responsible for creating a nurturing and positive learning environment, developing strategies to help clients cope with daily living situations, and facilitating independent performance in areas such as social, emotional, and physical development.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized plans of care to meet the unique needs of each client.
- Provide support and guidance to clients in areas such as daily living skills, personal hygiene, and community integration.
- Monitor and report any changes in client behavior or medical status to the supervisor or program coordinator.
- Administer medication to clients as prescribed, in accordance with agency policy and regulatory standards.
- Participate in training opportunities to maintain required certifications and stay up-to-date on best practices in the field.
- Assist with household management, meal preparation, and maintenance of the residential facility.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, and community partners.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of two years of experience in the field of human services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to lift and transfer 70-75 pounds, with frequent standing, walking, and bending.
- A valid CT driver's license and a good driving record.
