Residential Instructor

Community Residences is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Instructor to join our team. As a Residential Instructor, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Job SummaryThe Residential Instructor will be responsible for providing direct care and support to clients, including assisting with daily living activities, implementing individualized plans of care, and promoting independence and self-advocacy. This is a dynamic and rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities, personal care, and medication administration.
- Implement individualized plans of care, including behavior support plans and leisure activities.
- Assist clients with daily tasks, such as meal preparation, household chores, and transportation.
- Monitor and report any changes in client behavior, medical conditions, or other relevant information to the Program Manager and/or RN.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress and program activities.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience in the field of human services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift and transfer 70-75 pounds.
- A valid CT driver's license and a good driving record.
This position is available on a part-time basis, with a schedule of Friday 3pm-11pm and Saturday-Tuesday 3pm-9pm.
