Job Description

Yuba College is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to join our team as an Adjunct Business/Computer/Accounting Instructor. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching part-time courses in business and accounting, providing instruction and guidance to students, and contributing to the development of our business and accounting programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach part-time courses in business and accounting, including introductory and advanced courses in accounting, finance, and business management.
  • Develop and implement curriculum and instructional materials that meet the needs of our students and align with the college's goals and objectives.
  • Provide individualized instruction and support to students, including tutoring and mentoring.
  • Assess student learning and progress, and provide feedback to students and the college community.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide committees and initiatives, and contribute to the development of our business and accounting programs.
  • Stay current with developments in the field of business and accounting, and incorporate best practices into teaching and curriculum development.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration, or a related field.
  • OR Bachelor's degree in business with accounting emphasis or business administration with accounting emphasis or economics with an accounting emphasis, and a Master's degree in business, business administration, business education, economics, taxation, or finance.
  • OR a Bachelor's degree in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration, and a CPA license.
  • Experience teaching part-time courses in business and accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and the college community.
  • Ability to stay current with developments in the field of business and accounting, and incorporate best practices into teaching and curriculum development.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of practical work experience in accounting and general business.
  • Competency in all areas of applied business technology courses normally taught in a community college or in the first two years of a university.
  • Flexibility in the acceptance of new and changing teaching assignments.
  • Ability to adjust teaching skills to meet varying needs of the community and changing student interests.
  • CPA licensed applicants are preferred.
