SEO Manager

The SEO Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing data-driven SEO strategies, possessing a deep understanding of all functional areas of SEO, and exceling at managing a team.
This role will oversee individual client accounts in the legal, medical, and dental industries, working closely with multiple SEO team members and internal departments to manage the SEO direction and performance.
The SEO Manager will provide leadership and strategy for the direction of an organic campaign, including oversight of local SEO, technical SEO, and content.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing technical SEO audits, evaluating impact versus effort, and making recommendations related to SEO goals that impact the client's campaign.
- Evaluating traffic and website data to identify technical issues with websites and providing solutions.
- Reviewing and analyzing websites, identifying areas for improvement and change, relative to a website's organic performance in the search engines.
- Developing strategies for on-site organic tactics and optimizing following best practices such as: Schema, URL structure, taxonomy, title text, etc.
- Content strategies and planning that follow full-funnel, content clustering, or other approaches focused on driving results through the use of organic content.
- Developing strategies for off-site organic tactics: such as Local SEO and link-building strategies
- Collaborating with team members to develop and implement internal strategy policies, processes, and standards.
- Providing SEO consulting and support to Account Managers and working with them in support of SEO-related efforts.
- Communicating with team members on project development, timelines, and results.
- Working with and overseeing freelancers/vendors where applicable.
- Acting as a mentor and resource for information related to the industry and the day-to-day work being performed.
- Encouraging and fostering knowledge sharing between team members.
- Cultivating growth opportunities and skills development by working with the team to determine the areas of potential knowledge gaps, focus points of innovation and learning.
- Ensuring smooth operation and effective collaboration within their team and discipline.
- Listening to team members' feedback and finding solutions to resolve or improve.
- Facilitating individual growth by reviewing and compiling formalized performance feedback annually for each team member, working with them to maximize areas they show strengths in, and developing a plan to advance their skills in areas they need help in.
- Providing training and development opportunities to team members in SEO specialist roles as it pertains to SEO tasks, projects, and activities.
This is a salaried position with benefits such as PTO and Health Insurance available on first day of employment and 401k after 1 year.
This position is fully remote, and the budgeted salary range for this role is $75,000 - $90,000, commensurate with experience.
We are growing in the Charlotte, NC area and priority will be given to applicants who are local.
