Fire Protection Engineer

MDS Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and specifying project-appropriate engineering requirements, leading site investigations and observations, and preparing high-quality documents.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish and implement project engineering requirements
  • Lead site investigations and observations to ensure compliance with codes and standards
  • Prepare detailed narratives, reports, calculations, drawings, and specification documents
  • Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to ensure project success
  • Review and approve engineering documents for quality and compliance
  • Participate in Construction Administration, including reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFI's, and performing site visits
  • Lead and mentor junior professionals and designers
  • Communicate with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout project development
  • Assist with marketing and business development activities, including proposal writing and client interviews
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of licensed experience as a Fire Protection Engineer
  • ABET-accredited degree in Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Practical knowledge of codes and industry standards
  • Experience with Revit and AutoCAD
  • Proficiency with industry-standard calculation software
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills
