Job Summary

The Auburn University College of Agriculture is seeking a highly skilled Contracts and Grants Specialist to provide administrative support for internal and external grants, extramural projects, and A-21 cost accounting standards obligations. This role will serve as a liaison between departmental and central offices, ensuring compliance with university and sponsor guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise faculty and administration on procedures and approve contract and grant-related documents to ensure proper and timely accounting and contractual agreements.
  • Serve as a point of contact for pre-award grant activity in the college and submit grants on behalf of the college.
  • Promote and coordinate grant opportunities, workshops, and training for faculty.
  • Provide customer service to faculty, staff, administration, and sponsors on pre-award activity.
  • Prepare periodic contract and grant reports, extramural cover forms, and maintain data for funded projects and activities.
Requirements

We are hiring for a Contracts and Grants Specialist at three levels, based on candidate qualifications.

  • Specialist I: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Management, Finance, or a closely related field; no experience required.
  • Specialist II: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Management, Finance, or a closely related field and 2 years of experience in the management of contracts and grants.
  • Specialist III: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Management, Finance, or a closely related field and 4 years of experience in the management of contracts and grants.
Benefits

Auburn University offers a competitive salary range of $35,100 - $68,300 and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and educational opportunities.
