Senior Sponsored Programs Officer

Auburn University's Office of the Sr. Vice President of Research and Economic Development seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Sponsored Programs Officer to manage a team of Sponsored Programs Officers and facilitate a wide range of sponsored programs administration activities. This position will coordinate, advise, and support faculty and staff on extramural proposals, prepare and negotiate complex contracts, and provide regulatory guidance to ensure compliance with federal, state, and university rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and advise faculty and staff on extramural proposals to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and university rules and regulations.
- Prepare, review, and negotiate complex contracts, amendments, and documents for the Office of Sponsored Programs.
- Evaluate, interpret, and apply federal, sponsor, and university policy and regulations to determine acceptable conditions of awards.
- Manage and facilitate award change requests, including re-budgeting, pre-award costs, and no-cost-extensions.
- Provide regulatory guidance to faculty, administrative units, and staff to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Maintain proficiency in interpreting and applying federal regulations governing sponsored programs.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as STEM, Business Administration, or Public Administration.
- 8 years of experience in regulatory compliance, contract negotiation, research management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication skills, reading comprehension, and attention to detail.
- Ability to succeed in a high-volume, high-pressure environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
