Position Overview:

The Retail Operations Leader is responsible for steering the overall success of the store's operations. This role involves cultivating and guiding a sales team that is enthusiastic about merchandise sales and executing company strategies. The position focuses on driving objectives that enhance profitability while ensuring a positive experience for both customers and team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the financial performance of sales and profit targets, including payroll management, expense control, banking operations, shrink reduction, and timely report submissions.
  • Implement company initiatives such as merchandising standards, compliance with operational guidelines, and other programs that affect store performance.
  • Assign daily tasks to all team members to ensure productivity and engagement.
  • Develop effective strategies for merchandising, maintaining store standards, compliance with operational guidelines, seasonal transitions, inventory management, and adherence to company programs.
  • Uphold customer service standards in alignment with company expectations.
  • Design and execute training, coaching, and development plans for store associates, ensuring their growth and performance.
  • Manage staffing levels and associate schedules to meet business needs while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Conduct hiring processes, including recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and onboarding candidates to fulfill the store's staffing requirements.
  • Oversee performance evaluations and merit increases for associates.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of internal reporting in accordance with district, regional, and company standards.
  • Communicate company directives and initiatives to store associates, ensuring all follow-up actions are completed accurately and promptly.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment among all store associates.
  • Report and ensure the completion of necessary building maintenance and repairs.
  • Effectively execute the company recognition program.
  • Maintain the security of the store and all company assets.
  • Perform all necessary functions to open and close the store as required.
  • Maintain regular communication with district leadership and support center departments regarding business dynamics, marketing needs, inventory issues, and other relevant information.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies for bank deposits.
  • Complete any additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business management is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of retail experience in a supervisory capacity within a mid-sized to large retail or service-oriented environment.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays regularly.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to manage effectively in a professional setting.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and discretion.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Capability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and activities within strict deadlines.
  • Familiarity with industry terminology and processes.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to delegate tasks.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to engage well with customers and team members.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend and twist frequently.
  • Ability to grip, reach, and pinch with arms and hands frequently.
  • Ability to squat, kneel, balance, and climb occasionally.
  • Ability to see, hear, and speak regularly.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safety.
