Job Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring the effective administration of Prairie State Energy Campus's Workers' Compensation program, aligning with the company's core values to achieve optimal outcomes for employees and the organization. The successful candidate will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify risks, prevent losses, and manage claims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Display a proactive approach in the administration of the Workers Compensation program, ensuring enterprise-wide scope and consistency.
  • Establish and maintain accurate case files, logs, and indexes, reviewing documentation and records to ensure compliance.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to conduct investigations into reported claims, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Coordinate with the Benefits and Leave Program Manager on leave updates and provide recommendations on reasonable accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Verify job-related accidents, initiate notices, and monitor claimant case history.
  • Act as a liaison with the work comp insurance carrier, case managers, employees, and team members concerning workers compensation claims.
  • Coordinate data with the safety department to identify opportunities for minimizing future risk and improving workplace safety.
  • Develop and improve the administration of workers' compensation claims, implementing enhancement methods as identified.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and security standards for claimant information, adhering to organizational, federal, and state regulations.
  • Coordinate with General Counsel on litigation management strategies and settlement authority requests.
  • Ensure accurate file documentation, storage, and governance.
  • Develop and manage a transitional return to work program.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, insurance, finance, risk management, or business administration.
  • Three years of related experience working with workers compensation claims.
  • Knowledge of state and federal workers compensation laws.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
