About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer/Engineering Analyst to join our team at Prairie State Energy Campus. As a key member of our engineering function, you will be responsible for the continuous improvement of electrical equipment and support systems to ensure safe operation and minimize repetitive failures.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Owner: Responsible for assigned electrical equipment, ensuring its reliability and capacity.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Provide technical expertise on NERC standards related to assigned electrical equipment.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Coordinate electrical related maintenance and repair projects to maintain and improve the reliability and capacity of the plant.
  • Health and Maintenance: Evaluate and implement modifications to ensure the general health of assigned electrical equipment and related systems.
  • Planned Maintenance: Develop and review Planned Maintenance activities to ensure consistency with the Reliability Centered Maintenance philosophy.
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis: Lead and participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis and Failure Modes Effects Analysis processes to ensure corrective actions are timely and effective.
  • Project Management: Provide project management for plant projects or outages, including contract work scopes and budget development.
  • Training and Development: Work with electrical maintenance and plant operations personnel to provide training on reliable, safe, and efficient methods of electrical equipment and system maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Documentation and Records: Maintain assigned electrical testing and history records, ensuring equipment documentation is current and accurate.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • 5 or more years' experience in an electrical engineering analyst role, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 3 years of experience working at an industrial facility or power plant preferred.
  • Large generator experience preferred.
  • Experience with NERC regulations and compliance preferred.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) / Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is preferred.
  • Possession, or pursuance of a Professional Engineer License is preferred.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of NERC standards.
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • OSI PI Process Book platform.
  • ETAP modeling software.
  • IEEE standards.
  • Protective relaying equipment.
  • AutoCAD or other drafting packages.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and others.
  • Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to read and understand logic diagrams, drawings, and plant/equipment operating procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a highly organized work environment.
