About the Role
This is a critical leadership position responsible for managing the activities of workers accountable for preserving site facility building and grounds in a clean, secure, and orderly condition. The successful candidate will be accountable for the performance of the Third Party Manufacturing facilities team in a critical medical device manufacturing facility that operates 24/7 with a cleanroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with TPM to manage the activities of workers accountable for preserving site facility building and grounds in a clean and orderly condition and for maintaining/repairing utility systems as well as physical structures.
- Accountable for the performance of TPM facilities team and work output of managed subcontractors.
- Identify and estimate needs for cleaning, repair, and preventive maintenance of buildings and building equipment; assess and recommend staffing and contractor services to meet needs; arrange for and monitor contractors and employees in performing building maintenance.
- Arrange for and direct operation of main lobby, Receptionists/Switchboard Operators, voicemail system and other telephone services, building security operations including access control, surveillance systems and guards. Coordinate arrangements with Facilities, Information Technology (IT), and vendors.
- Manage environmental safety at the site; coordinate use of experts as needed. Insure regular environmental safety training.
- Lead the Emergency Response Team (ERT) team in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Hire and retain a diverse, highly qualified staff and provide ongoing performance feedback. Maintain a safe and professional work environment.
- Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or combination of appropriate education and experience.
- 9 years of related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- A broad knowledge of the facilities maintenance field with significant expertise in one or more of the following specialties: electrical maintenance, plumbing, gas, pumps, heating, ventilating, air conditioning (HVAC), millwright, and pipefitting.
- Preferred experience with cleanrooms and supporting 24/7 operations.
- Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferred.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results.
- Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
- Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable.
- Ability to travel approximately 25%, including internationally.
