Financial Reporting Specialist

Foreign Policy's finance department is seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Specialist to join the financial accounting and reporting team. Your expertise in revenue recognition and expense reporting will be crucial in maintaining the financial health of the organization.

  • Prepare monthly journal entries for revenue and expense accruals, variance-to-budget analyses for income statement accounts, and general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Meet monthly and annual reporting deadlines, both internal and external.
  • Collaborate with business counterparts to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Prepare schedules and supporting data for annual financial statements and tax filings.
  • Support audit requests during interim and year-end audit cycles.
  • Prepare data and schedules for the annual budget and interim forecasts.
  • Update and/or create documentation of processes and procedures to enhance the quality of financial reporting efforts.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • A Degree in Accounting, CPA preferred.
  • 2+ years of general ledger accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of accounting and financial concepts.
  • Clear and concise communication and presentation skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to read and analyze financial reports.
  • Love of details with demonstrated initiative in research and follow-through.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with Quickbooks (preferred).

Salary Range: $80,000-$110,000. Final base salary will be determined by numerous factors, including relevant skills and experience.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
