About the Role

The Park School is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Athletic Trainer to join our team. As a key member of our athletic department, you will be responsible for providing sports-related injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services to our student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Injury Prevention and Treatment: Assess, treat, and manage athletic injuries and conditions, and develop and implement injury prevention programs.
  • Protocols and Communication: Establish, communicate, and implement protocols to assist with preventing and rehabilitating student athletes' injuries.
  • Initial Assessment and Treatment: Conduct initial on-site assessment and treatment of student athletes' injuries or illnesses, and provide immediate care and first aid in case of sports-related injuries or emergencies.
  • Referral and Coordination: Determine if a student requires a referral for emergency or continued care or a definitive diagnosis and treatment by the School's Health Office or physician, and communicate instances of student injuries to the Director of Athletics, the Health Office, and appropriate school administrators.
  • Progress Reporting: Evaluate students' readiness to play following an injury and report the progress of recovering athletes to coaches, the Health Office, and the school's physician as appropriate.
  • Care Coordination: Work with coaches, parents, and medical professionals to coordinate care and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assist with the proper use and maintenance of athletic equipment and supplies.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Education and Workshops: Educate athletes on injury prevention, nutrition, and overall wellness, and conduct workshops and training sessions as needed.
Qualifications
  • National Athletic Trainers Association Board certification
  • Massachusetts Licensure in good standing
  • CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification
  • A bachelor's degree in athletic training, exercise physiology, health education, adolescent/child development, or a related field
  • CPR, AED, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogens certification
  • Experience as an athletics trainer, preferably working with middle school-aged students
  • Commitment to fostering a positive team culture
  • Able to communicate and collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues
