Job Overview

The Town of Brookline is seeking a dedicated and organized individual for the role of Front Desk Assistant at the Evelyn Kirrane Aquatics Center. This facility is equipped with three pools and offers a variety of athletic, health, wellness, and camp activities for the community. The Front Desk Assistant will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and performing various clerical and administrative tasks to support the operations of the aquatics programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle clerical and administrative tasks, including answering phone calls, assisting both staff and patrons, and processing fees related to programs and memberships.
  • Manage patron memberships, issue swipe cards, and oversee swim shop transactions; ensure accurate tracking of party rentals.
  • Facilitate student registrations for various lessons and programs.
  • Monitor daily attendance and assist in organizing lessons and programs, which includes creating class rosters and accurately entering transactions into the department's software.
  • Maintain up-to-date facility signage, flyers, schedules, and program guides for patron accessibility.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's degree or relevant business training is preferred. A minimum of two years of office experience, including basic accounting and bookkeeping, is required. Candidates must demonstrate strong customer service abilities and accurate data entry skills.

Familiarity with standard office practices, basic financial management, and record-keeping is essential. The ideal candidate will have the ability to learn and effectively utilize department software, interact professionally with patrons and colleagues, and maintain a safe and welcoming environment within the facility.

Position Details:

  • Compensation: $25 per hour.
  • Work Schedule: 5 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Duration: Temporary position for up to six months.
