Position Overview: The Community Collaboration and Training Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering partnerships and enhancing community engagement to effectively tackle local challenges. This position emphasizes improving access to essential resources and facilitating educational opportunities within Indigenous communities. The focus is on emergency response and preparedness, aiming to mitigate disaster risks in tribal areas. Key responsibilities encompass the execution of collaborative services, Long Term Solutions (LTS) initiatives, and comprehensive training programs, which include assessment, action plan formulation, facilitation, monitoring, and daily operations management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a thorough understanding of the organization's LTS and Materials Services (MS) offerings, alongside the challenges these programs address for tribal partners.
- Engage with team members, partners, contractors, and vendors, embodying Indigenous principles of Respect, Wisdom, Generosity, and Humility.
- Attract, retain, and inspire partner programs while acknowledging and addressing their needs without overextending organizational resources.
- Deliver information clearly and effectively, respond to inquiries, and demonstrate strong skills in partnership development.
- Implement current and future LTS projects in alignment with the organization's mission and vision, as well as relevant grantor and funder objectives, adhering to established documentation and strategic planning processes.
- Organize, facilitate, and lead collaborative groups on designated reservations and regions.
- Provide leadership and coordination for collaborative services and training, with a focus on detail and organization.
- Identify and arrange training sessions with both on-reservation and off-reservation institutions, recruiting trainers with significant tribal knowledge and adult learning expertise.
- Assess the developmental needs of partners and funders, effectively matching training methods to their requests.
- Monitor collaborative and training progress, following up with project funders or program partners to ensure the fulfillment of action plans.
- Clearly communicate all online training, institutional training, and online resource availability to project funders or program partners.
- Design, develop, and implement incentive and leadership training programs to promote self-determination within reservations.
- Collaborate with grants or project funders.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Engage in service activities as necessary.
- Oversee, report, and manage expenses.
- Provide necessary reports and supporting documentation to the Program Manager of LTS/Director.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager/Director.
Work Environment:
- Standard working hours are Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm.
- Occasional weekend work may be required to accommodate partner schedules.
- Most work is conducted independently under the general guidance of the Programs Manager/Director.
- Frequent travel is necessary.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred, along with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in networking, facilitation management, or community development.
- Experience working within Indigenous communities is preferred.
Required Skills:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with groups.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting budgets, along with strong mathematical abilities.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and listening skills.
Creative Thinking:
Demonstrate original thinking; tackle challenges resourcefully; identify and seize opportunities; present ideas compellingly.
Business Insight:
Understand the organizational implications of decisions; display a focus on profitability; demonstrate awareness of competition; align with organizational and grantor/funder strategic goals.

- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and database applications for accounting, human resources/payroll, and project management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of standard office practices, technology, equipment, and techniques.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Project and case management skills from assessment to implementation.
- Support an asset-based community development (ABCD) approach in partnerships.
Training and Instruction:
Capable of leading and assisting in capacity-building initiatives.
Salary Range:
$49,500 - $59,000
