Job Title: HSE Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HSE Specialist to join our team at The Walsh Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees, contractors, and the public.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive EHS assessments and recommend corrective measures to project management.
  • Provide training and education to Company personnel on EHS requirements and recommend advancements to materials.
  • Assist project management in coordinating subcontractor EHS protocols, vendor, and owner personnel working on company projects.
  • Conduct accident investigations and complete incident reporting for Project Management review.
  • Establish hospital and clinical care facilities for each project.
  • Accompany injured employees to treatment and medical evaluation.
  • Ensure all EHS protocols are followed.
  • Advises Project Management on Industrial Hygiene protocols; performs Environmental Monitoring.
  • Administers the Company's Drug-Free Workplace Policy, ensuring proper testing for Pre-Employment, Vehicle Authorization, Reasonable Suspicion, Post-Accident, Random, and Follow-Up.
  • Facilitates orientation of all project employees to the EHS practices required by the Company.
  • Provides a weekly safety update to EHS Leadership.
  • Administers the corporate SPAT process on assigned projects.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) Certification preferred.
  • Less than 3 years of experience in the construction safety field.
  • Some travel required.
  • Required to stand, walk, sit, and climb stairs or ladders.
  • OSHA 30 hour preferred.
  • First Aid, CPR AED preferred.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Leadership skills.
