Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at The Arora Group. As a Licensed Practical Nurse in a detention setting, you will play a critical role in coordinating complex clinical operations and providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care to patients within the scope of your practice and perform functions in accordance with current accepted practice, licensure, certification, credentialing, and/or competencies.
  • Administer medications as ordered, using various routes such as oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenous, topical, ophthalmic, and enteral/parenteral.
  • Perform prescreening and intake screening of patients, using established tools to gather subjective and objective data and referring abnormal findings to registered nurses, medical providers, or other healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Perform various treatments, such as wound care, vital sign checks, electrocardiograms, and laboratory specimen collection, as ordered by medical providers or registered nurses.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and render emergency care to stabilize patients and prevent deterioration, and transfer patients to appropriate levels of care.
  • Assist other healthcare professionals through data gathering, provision of care, patient education, and other tasks.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from a Vocational/Practical Nurse program approved by a State, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. Territory.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital, medical office, or outpatient clinical setting.
  • Experience in a detention/correctional or residential healthcare setting preferred.
  • Maintain current, full, and unrestricted LVN/LPN license by the state in which the duty station is located, or a compact state that allows practice in the state in which the duty station is located.
  • Maintain BLS for Healthcare Providers certification through the American Heart Association.
