Job Title: Senior Public Health Data Analyst

Lantana Consulting Group Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Public Health Data Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing consulting, analytics, training, and development services to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Access and analyze complex data from various sources to provide actionable insights for our clients.
  • Conduct analyses in SAS and Python, interpreting, summarizing, and presenting findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manipulate datasets and perform quality checks on analytic deliverables to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Communicate complex data insights and data-science methodology to clients, management, and staff through clear and concise reports and presentations.
  • Analyze client needs and translate them into formal requirements to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, develop, and implement validation activities and healthcare-quality measurement programs.
  • Maintain public-health expertise and stay abreast of current trends in the field to provide innovative solutions to our clients.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline, and at least twelve (12) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience using SAS to import data, manipulate data/datasets, and conduct analyses to evaluate data quality and accuracy.
  • Experience using R or Python, with a strong understanding of data manipulation and analysis techniques.
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Attention to detail when developing materials, reviewing documentation, troubleshooting issues, and reporting results.
  • Ability to successfully complete a Position of Public Trust Level 5 background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience importing a variety of data types, including XML, JSON, CSV, and XSLX, into SAS.
  • Experience working with national contracts/datasets and data modernization/automation techniques.
