Job Summary

GrayMar Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As a Remediation Heavy Equipment Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of heavy machinery associated with environmental service projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment, including forklifts, excavators, bulldozers, front-end loaders, and other machinery, in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner.
  • Work with hazardous and non-hazardous soils and substances in proper PPE while operating heavy equipment.
  • Participate in a drug-free workplace with a random drug testing program.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of heavy equipment operation/maintenance experience.
  • 5+ years of experience operating excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and/or backhoes.
  • Rough and fine grading required.
  • Experience breaking concrete a plus.
  • Sloping, benching, and certified compaction work experience required.
  • High production truck loading experience required.
  • Mass excavation experience required.
  • Competent person for excavations a plus. If not, you must attend and pass OSHA training.
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record, commercial class A drivers license preferred.
  • 40-hr Hazwoper with current 8-hr refresher preferred.
  • Experience loading and unloading heavy equipment on trailers.
  • Grease and maintain equipment.
  • Safety-oriented mindset with the determination to follow all procedures and policies.
  • Must pass drug screening and criminal background check.
  • Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery.
  • Able to work long periods, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
  • Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
