Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Field Operations Manager is to oversee and direct on-site activities, managing personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. This role may involve supervising a significant project or multiple projects concurrently.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Guarantee the timely and secure completion of projects within budget, focusing on building positive relationships.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors and suppliers to foster enduring partnerships.
  • Provide insights regarding subcontractor responsibilities to assist the Project Manager.
  • Develop relationships with unions to ensure a harmonious work environment at project sites.
  • Prioritize safety by diligently maintaining project sites.
  • Comply with Quality Control standards as outlined in the Contract Documents.
  • Assist in pre-project planning, strategizing, and scheduling.
  • Deliver training and mentorship to field personnel.
  • Earn respect from subcontractors, owners, design teams, and colleagues.
  • Ensure timely submission of Incident and Accident Reports.
  • Create accurate and achievable construction timelines.
  • Implement a "zero punch list" strategy to reduce project errors and callbacks.
  • Complete projects efficiently and ahead of schedule.
  • Enforce compliance requiring subcontractors to possess approved insurance certificates prior to commencing work on-site.
  • Contribute to policy-making decisions for field employees.
  • Conduct comprehensive annual evaluations and focus on training objectives for supervised field staff.
  • Organize, manage, and document meetings effectively.
  • Generate daily and weekly progress reports.
  • Capture digital progress images.
  • Assist in compiling monthly financial reports.
  • Execute the Company's Safety Program diligently.
  • Establish positive relationships with regulatory agencies.
  • Mentor team members to foster growth.
  • Encourage a collaborative team atmosphere.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. A proven history in Construction and/or Management may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Thorough understanding of Owner contracts, drawings, specifications, and insurance risks.
  • Extensive knowledge of the scheduling process, capable of developing project plans.
  • In-depth familiarity with self-performance tasks, including site work, concrete, and utilities related to transmission and infrastructure projects.
  • Proficient in public speaking and representing projects during discussions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of OSHA regulations, Safety Risk Management, and hazard policies.
  • Experience managing high-risk projects and field personnel.
  • Ability to provide guidance and leadership to supervisory staff.
  • Completion of OSHA 30-hour safety training, First Aid, and CPR certifications.
  • Proficient in essential computer applications.
