    JOB SUMMARY

    The primary responsibility is to serve our clients by safely and efficiently transporting goods from the warehouse to various customer locations, ensuring proper delivery and unloading according to customer invoices and company standards.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Unload products from the trailer, either manually or using a hand cart, in all weather conditions, placing them in designated storage areas as per customer specifications and company standards.
    • Complete all necessary paperwork in accordance with established company and governmental guidelines (e.g., DOT logs, inspections, vehicle maintenance reports, and pre- and post-trip reports) accurately and promptly.
    • Adhere to all food safety protocols as per established guidelines (e.g., maintaining proper temperatures in the delivery vehicle, inspecting products for visible damages prior to delivery, and ensuring proper storage to prevent cross-contamination) while maintaining sanitary conditions in the vehicle; assist in keeping the warehouse and yard clean.
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers by providing courteous service and clear communication.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
    REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
    • High school diploma/GED/equivalent, plus 1 year of tractor trailer driving experience preferred. Completion of a tractor trailer driving school may substitute for, or complement, a high school diploma.
    CERTIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License. Must be insurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of initial and continued employment.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    Knowledge of: DOT regulations; Hazmat guidelines; Safe lifting and delivery practices.

    Skill in: driving long distances across various terrains and weather conditions, communicating with customers, problem-solving, and delivering products.

    Ability to: operate a tractor-trailer both day and night, remain alert and aware of surroundings; meet or exceed productivity standards set by the company; handle hazardous materials and food items that are frozen, dry, and refrigerated; operate a 3-axle tractor, 45' - 48' trailer, straight truck, onboard computer, keypad, and a 2-wheel hand cart; read, write, and communicate in English relevant to the job and safety regulations; perform basic math functions; effectively plan and organize work activities independently; and solve problems.

    • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The associate frequently lifts, pushes, or moves products weighing up to 50 pounds manually and pushes/pulls up to 250 pounds with a 2-wheeled hand cart; climbs in and out of a tractor and trailer; reaches to stack and unstack pallets and hand carts; bends and twists while loading and unloading products, and retrieving items from the trailer. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to wet, hot, extreme cold, and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; and may be required to work in confined spaces. The associate typically works an overnight schedule, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and varying start times to meet customer needs. The associate may occasionally be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes, or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Overtime hours, working weekends and holidays, and starting at various times are required to meet customer needs.
