JOB SUMMARY

The primary responsibility is to serve our clients by safely and efficiently transporting products from the warehouse using a tractor-trailer to various customer locations, ensuring proper delivery and unloading of products according to customer invoices and company standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Unload products from the trailer, either manually or using a hand cart, in all weather conditions, placing them in designated storage areas as per customer specifications and company standards.
  • Complete all paperwork in accordance with established company and governmental guidelines, ensuring accuracy and timely submission of logs, inspections, and maintenance reports.
  • Adhere to food safety protocols, maintaining proper temperatures in the delivery vehicle and ensuring products are inspected for damages prior to delivery.
  • Foster positive relationships with customers through excellent service and clear communication.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, along with 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience preferred. Completion of a tractor-trailer driving school may substitute for a high school diploma.
CERTIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License. Must be insurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of initial and continued employment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of DOT regulations, Hazmat guidelines, and safe lifting and delivery practices.

Skills in long-distance driving, communication with customers, problem-solving, and product delivery.

Ability to operate a tractor-trailer both day and night, remain alert, meet productivity standards, handle hazardous materials, and perform basic math functions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. Frequently required to lift, push, or move products weighing up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 250 pounds with a hand cart.
  • Climb in and out of a tractor and trailer, reach to stack and unstack pallets, and bend while loading and unloading products.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate may encounter while performing the essential functions of the job.
  • Occasional exposure to wet, hot, cold, and humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; and confined spaces. Typically works an overnight schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • May be exposed to high places, fumes, or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
