JOB SUMMARY

The primary responsibility is to serve our clients by safely and efficiently transporting goods from the warehouse to various locations, ensuring proper delivery and unloading according to customer invoices and company standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Unload products from the trailer, either manually or using a hand cart, in all weather conditions, placing them in designated storage areas as per customer specifications and company standards.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork in accordance with established company and governmental guidelines (e.g., DOT logs, inspections, vehicle maintenance reports, and trip reports).
  • Adhere to all food safety protocols as per established guidelines (e.g., maintaining proper temperatures in the delivery vehicle, inspecting products for damages prior to delivery, and ensuring sanitary conditions in the vehicle).
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers through excellent service and clear communication.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent, along with 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience preferred. Completion of a tractor-trailer driving school may substitute for the high school diploma.
CERTIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License. Must be insurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of employment.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of: DOT regulations; Hazmat guidelines; safe lifting and delivery practices.

Skills in: long-distance driving, navigating various terrains and weather conditions, customer communication, problem-solving, and product delivery.

Ability to: operate a tractor-trailer both day and night, remain alert and aware of surroundings, meet or exceed productivity standards, handle hazardous materials and food items, operate a 3-axle tractor and 45' - 48' trailer, and perform basic math functions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. Frequently required to lift, push, or move products weighing up to 50 pounds by hand and push/pull up to 250 pounds with a hand cart; climb in and out of a tractor and trailer; reach to stack and unstack pallets; bend and twist while loading and unloading products.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Occasionally exposed to wet, hot, extreme cold, and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; and may be required to work in confined spaces. Typically works an overnight schedule, including weekends and holidays.
