Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Intake Coordinator to join our team at Intermountain Healthcare. As an Intake Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive the best possible care by coordinating the intake process and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent telephone and in-person customer service to patients, referral sources, and other stakeholders.
  • Triage phone calls and respond to requests in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collect and input intake information into the computer system, completing the intake process.
  • Interface with third-party payers to determine insurance benefits and authorization status.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure patients receive appropriate treatment.
  • Organize daily activities to ensure the department functions according to accepted standards.
  • Establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
Requirements
  • One year of customer service experience.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in time-sensitive situations, handling multiple priorities simultaneously, and making prompt accountable decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under stress.
  • Demonstrated computer and word processing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of experience with Medicare/Medicaid and other commercial insurances, preauthorization, and utilization management.
  • Experience with Centricity/IDX.
  • Knowledge of Intermountain Healthcare's computer systems.
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking, admitting, billing, collection, and/or insurance verification experience.
Work Environment

This position is located at our Homecare - Salt Lake City location and requires a 40-hour workweek.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $18.66 - $25.33, depending on experience.
