Occupational Therapist Assistant

We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at PARS Therapy in Arlington and Grand Prairie, TX areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational therapy and excellent communication skills.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will work closely with clients to develop, recover, or maintain their daily living and work skills. This will involve assessing client needs, selecting and adapting appropriate treatment models, and implementing interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL).
The Occupational Therapist Assistant will also be responsible for teaching clients new ways of approaching tasks, educating them on how to break down activities into achievable components, and recommending adaptive equipment and training in its use.
In addition, the role will involve guiding and educating family members and caregivers, observing and reporting on progress towards long- and short-term treatment goals, and collecting data and documenting processes followed.
Requirements- COTA certification required
- Home care or rehab experience preferred
- Proven working experience as Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant
- Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of Occupational Therapy
- Hands-on experience with computer programs and creative media
- Familiarity with ADLs evaluation tools (e.g., Katz ADL scale, Lawton IADL scale)
- Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
- $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience
