Health and Safety Professional

The Occupational Health and Safety Specialist is responsible for supporting health and safety operations at a federal government facility. This role involves reviewing injury statistics, identifying potential workplace safety hazards, and developing safety plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of safety management systems and experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct incident investigations using Root Cause Analysis and suggest corrective actions
- Evaluate working conditions and recommend improvement measures in safety and health methods, practices, and procedures
- Develop, implement, and execute health and safety training programs
- Act as a subject-matter expert in health and safety matters
- Participate in the review of operations, processes, and procedures to ensure consideration of safety and health issues/hazards
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or minimum 5 years of experience in a health and safety role
- Familiarity with regulatory agencies and experience with developing and auditing policies and procedures
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
