Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the selection process for housekeeping staff, coordinating interviews and conducting assessments as needed.
  • Assist in scheduling staff days off, holidays, and vacations, ensuring a balance between hotel needs and staff work-life balance.
  • Assign staff to work areas and project duties, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Provide comprehensive training and ongoing education to housekeeping staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Review and revise duty lists regularly, ensuring staff are aware of their responsibilities and expectations.
  • Ensure adherence to supply control guidelines and staff training on chemical product usage.
  • Identify and address quality assurance concerns promptly, following up with staff to ensure resolution.
  • Lead departmental staff meetings, promoting open communication and collaboration.
  • Attend staff development meetings and training courses, staying up-to-date on industry best practices.
  • Provide individual guidance and motivation to staff, helping them reach their full potential.
  • Participate in performance evaluations, making recommendations for staff development and growth.
  • Prepare disciplinary reports and conduct investigations as needed, reporting findings to management.
  • Monitor staff attendance, taking proactive steps to address absenteeism patterns.
  • Ensure a safe work environment, reporting any safety concerns or hazards to management.
  • Perform special requests and projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Maintain a clean and organized housekeeping office, storage areas, and closets, reflecting the hotel's high standards.
  • Establish an open-door policy, maintaining visibility and approachability with staff.
  • Clean and inspect guest rooms as needed, ensuring exceptional quality and attention to detail.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of progressive housekeeping management experience in a full-service hotel or luxury hotel/resort.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Exceptional timekeeping and reliability, with strong time management skills and attention to detail.

Compensation

The compensation for this position is $48,000.00/Yr. - $58,000.00/Yr., based on qualifications and experience.
